How much time does it take for my implants to be restored?
Usually it takes 2-6 months to have your implants restored. Implants placed in the mandible can be restored after 2 months of healing because of the better bone quality, while implants placed in the maxilla may need up to 6 months to be restored.
During that time bone grows over your implants and they are being osseointegrated.
Patients that have never used a denture before, are skeptical because they have to go through the waiting period with a removable prosthesis.
Is immediate loading an option?
Nowadays it is possible to place implants and have them restored the same time with either a permanent or a final prosthesis.
The technique is called immediate loading and is based on research showing that good quality bone, can withstand the extra forces and still allow implants to osseointegrate successfully.
Am I suitable candidate?
The immediate loading concept is being used either in patients with no teeth or for patients with an anterior missing tooth.
If all the necessary conditions apply then we can even extract a tooth, place an implant and restore it immediately with a provisional restoration.
The immediate loading concept requires careful treatment plan and proper case selection.
It is a demanding procedure for our patients, the prosthodontist and for the dental technician but it offers a quick and reliable solution to your dental problem.
Can you make new teeth on my implants, in one day?
Yes, we can. However, there is a specific type of prosthesis we can fabricate. It is called hybrid and is made out of acrylic teeth supported by a metal substructure.
